Appleton Drawing Club Community Exhibit Call for Art
About the show
Share your artwork with fellow artists and the wider community at the Appleton Drawing Club Community Exhibit! In partnership with Hang Up Gallery, let's celebrate the creativity and camaraderie of our friendly, local drawing club. Life drawings and paintings of figures, portraits, and wildlife made at Appleton Drawing Club sessions are especially welcome, but we want to see your favorite pieces and this show is open to any artwork you've made!
Eligibility
If you've ever attended (or will attend soon) an Appleton Drawing Club session or workshop, you're invited to submit your work!
Entry guidelines
- Medium: Any two dimensional work in any medium. No photography. No images created wholly or in part by artificial intelligence. Prints of digital drawing and painting are accepted.
- Theme: Any representational subjects. Work made from life encouraged but not required. Nude figure studies from life drawing or studio practice are accepted. No explicit subjects or work inappropriate for a public gallery setting.
- Entry limit: Up to 2 pieces per artist
- Artwork size: maximum longest unframed dimension 24 inches. Total unframed size of all pieces should not exceed 432 square inches.
- Image format: JPG images, at least 1500 pixels on the longest side, maximum 10MB file size, title lastname_firstname_title.jpg (ex: mcgillivray_kevin_portraitstudy.jpg)
Acceptance
Artwork will be accepted for exhibition based on the entry guidelines above and the available exhibition space. Acceptance results will be emailed on October 4.
Presentation
Work must be framed and ready to hang with wire (no sawtooth hangers). Wrapped canvas, cradled panel, or mounted paper is acceptable with wire hanging hardware. Hang Up Gallery is offering a 20% discount on framing services through their custom frame shop for exhibiting artists.

Entry fee
There is no fee to enter this show.
Sales
Work is not required to be listed for sale, but we encourage you to make your work available for purchase. Hang Up Gallery retains a 35% commission for all sales of work related to this exhibition.

- Artwork drop off dates: October 20 - October 27 2026 during Hang Up Gallery open hours (10AM-5PM Tuesday - Friday, 10AM-3PM Saturday, closed Sunday and Monday)
- Show dates: November 3 - November 28 2026
- Reception: November 6 5:30 - 7:30PM
- Pickup dates: December 1 - December 12 2026 during Hang Up Gallery open hours (10AM-5PM Tuesday - Friday, 10AM-3PM Saturday, closed Sunday and Monday)

Work must be hand-delivered. If you're interested in submitting work but are unable to deliver pieces to the gallery in person, contact us at hello@appletondrawingclub.com.

All communication for this show is via email. Please add hello@appletondrawingclub.com to your contacts to ensure you receive notifications.
Liability
Artists should insure their work if preferred. Hang Up Gallery and Appleton Drawing Club are not liable for damage to artwork in transit or during display at Hang Up Gallery.
Image use
By entering this exhibition, the artist gives Appleton Drawing Club and Hang Up Gallery the right to use submitted images for digital, print and web promotions.
