Join us for a special live music and drawing session with our guest and model, Richard Edge! Richard is on tour for their debut album release, Vespers, produced by local Appleton-based record label, Crutch of Memory. Richard will bring their summer tour to the drawing club, a unique chance to combine art and music in one great evening.

Bring your pencils, paper, and keen eyes and ears. Sketch Richard while enjoying the folk/blues/punk sound of their twelve string guitar and capture the music on paper. We'll also have a short posed portrait sitting half way through the session for an opportunity for a more traditional portrait! Get inspired, hang out with your fellow artists, and enjoy the Vespers Summer Tour!

Richard Edge's debut LP, Vespers, plays like a stoned Southern ode to the primitive guitar.

A rushing flood of steel-stringed vibration; pristine; plummeting: higher music not made for a concert hall. Casual like the rubber burning off a pair of shitty sneakers on a cooked, overgrown summer sidewalk. It's Richard's vernacular: deeper than dumb- in fact, incredibly deep- a universe of buoyantly drifting particles settling in a creek bed after some buck-toothed kid in cutoff jeans made that poor-man's ocean skin their landing pad.

Call it folk; call it blues; call it punk. It’s an outsider classical music with inherent twang. It's a window into Richard's world, and it's the latest installment in Crutch of Memory's irreverent catalog.

Bring your own easel and preferred art supplies, we'll have a few materials available as a backup if you don't have your own!

Did you say you "can't draw"??

That's okay! If you'd like to enjoy the music and see the art without drawing yourself, you are more than welcome to join us and hang out. We'll also have extra drawing materials available in case you get inspired to join in for drawing after all. Our sessions are for everyone from complete beginners to pro artists, so no matter what your experience level we hope you'll share a creative night with us.
